The Difference Between Vibrators and Dildos
Dildo is basically a stick
while a vibrator is a stick that moves…. lol…
ok, lemme explain in details:
A dildo is a penetrative object that is silent. A vibrator can also be used for penetration but may come in smaller forms for specific spot stimulation. It also vibrates, tapping current either from being plugged into your wall socket or from batteries.
examples of dildos can be found here:

Technically, a vibrator *can* be a dildo, if it’s used to penetrate. However, the two definitions are not always interchangeable.
Merriam Webster defines dildo as “a penis substitute for vaginal penetration.” Don’t be so narrow-minded; a dildo can also make a lovely tool for anal pleasure as well. Make sure you use a dildo with a flared base – yes, so it won’t slip in and cause a rupture. (Ouch.)
Not all dildos are penis-shaped, either – there are ones that come in forms of dolphins and forearms and more. More generally, penetrative vibrators do tend to come in a penis-like shape.
